Aleena+Geoff | Punjabi Wedding | Sugarloaf Country Club
Today is the best day because today I get to relive this amazing wedding! This has been a long time coming for me and I’m so excited to share these images!!!!
. . . . . . . .
I started my company in 2012 with an Indian Fusion Wedding. It was awesome! So many colors, so many people, so many words I didn’t understand! hahaha! As my very first wedding, without a second shooter or much experience, it didn’t turn out so bad. I think after that experience, I was able to see the talent I had for photography and the passion I had to tell peoples stories. Before that it was just a goal, but then….I was legit! haha! But ever since that wedding, I have been so enamored with the culture, the traditions, and the atmosphere of these weddings and have had a love in my heart for working on them “someday”.
. . . . . . .
Well today is the DAY! So many of my friends ask me what it’s like and finally I get to SHOW you, and what better way to introduce this style to my portfolio then with Aleena and Geoff. When Aleena first inquired with me, I knew she was the ideal client. She said she had looked at many other photographers, indian photographers at that, but that there was just something about the way I captured emotions, colors, and love that struck a cord with her. IN THE INITIAL EMAIL! Right away I was ready to do anything for her because it can be hard to connect with a client that quickly! We spoke in “YAY’s”, all caps, and emojis for days and then set a date to meet the groom and the parents! I was nervous at first, being the only non-indian vendor, but Aleena and Geoff’s belief in me, made me stronger. I swear this girl is a God-send! The more of her and Geoff I met, the more I loved them and, if it’s possible, meeting their families at their wedding weekend was the icing on the cake – no pun intended! hahaha!
. . . . . . . .
There’s still a lot about indian weddings that I have to learn, but one thing I know for sure is love. Love is patient. Love is unconditional. Love is kind and that is exactly what Aleena and Geoff have for each other. They have compassion for each other and the people they love, and for a few days in their lives, they welcomed me into their story and for that I am so blessed! This week they move to Arizona, to begin the next chapter of their lives as a Doctor and Software Engineer! Talk about intimidation! haha! They are doing such amazing things with their lives and I can’t to see where marriage takes them! CONGRATS to the The Dworkins! All the love and happiness to you both! Here are a few of my favorite moments from your wedding! The first event is the Mehendi, the second is the Maiyan, the third is the Sangeet, and last but not least – WEDDING DAY! Enjoy! <3
